Dominique L. Augustus

Associate Attorney

 

Dominique focuses her practice on providing legal services to students and families in the area of special education. She regularly attends ARD meetings as well as represents families in Special Education Due Process Hearings, mediations, and Section 504 matters. 

Her experience in Education Law is evidenced by the fact that she is frequently appointed as a Guardian Ad Litem by Courts that wish her to handle any educational matters for children involved in Family Court and CPS cases.

 

In addition to Education Law, she frequently handles Probate proceedings that include guardianships and annual accountings, probating small and large estates, and heirships. She is also very familiar with establishing special needs trusts and other estate planning matters.

Dominique attended the Michigan State University College of Law where she had the opportunity to intern at the Michigan State Appellate Defenders Office and was a student clinician at the College of Law's Civil Rights Clinic. Prior to law school, she attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where she earned her Bachelor’s degree.
